Getting started can be overwhelming. Let's look at how therapy will work and what to expect from me.

How It Works


1. Free Consultation

First, schedule a free 10 minute phone consultation. This is where you can briefly share what you are looking for in therapy, ask any questions, and hear a little bit about what you can expect from me. We can then schedule your first session if you are ready.

2. initial appointment

You can email me and request an initial appointment. I will reach back out with dates/times available. The email will include my office location and necessary paperwork to get things started.

3. first session & beyond

Our first session will include review of your paperwork, your goals in therapy and how together they may be reached. If after that first session you are ready to continue, we will schedule future sessions.

  • In person or online sessions for your convenience.

  • Set schedule of sessions so you always know when we are meeting.

  • Private text and phone access as needed through a HIPAA compliant platform.

  • You are a priority and will receive personalized treatment.

Couples

Insurance

I accept Aetna insurance only.

I will provide you a "Super Bill" that you may submit to your insurance as "out of network" reimbursement. This super bill will have all the necessary information your insurance needs in order to reimburse you (based on your out of network benefits) for our sessions.

cancellation policy

Your session dates and time are set aside for you. Should you need to cancel, I kindly request at least 24 hrs notice. For any cancellation inside the 24hr window, you will be charged the full fee rate. Should I need to cancel for any reason, I do not charge.

forms of payment

I accept cash, check or credit card payment. You may use an HSA account for therapy sessions.

I use an app called IVY Pay which is HIPAA compliant. I will ask you to put a card on file prior to our first session. After which, each time we have a session, I will charge your card on the app and you will receive a text message with the option of downloading a receipt.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • This is very individualized. I do not like to give a time frame as it puts pressure on both of us to reach a destination by a certain date that may not be realistic.

  • Sex Therapy is talk therapy where we work through any of your sexual health concerns. It does not include any type of touch.

  • I offer both in person sessions and virtual. A positive aspect about the ability to do a virtual session, is if you are feeling ill, the weather is poor or you are trying to have therapy during a work day, it is just a matter of clicking a few buttons to meet virtually.

  • I only accept Aetna insurance. Otherwise, it is private pay only.

  • I require 24 hrs notice of the need to cancel our session. If canceling within 24 hrs, I will charge the full rate fee.
